this sunday is the super bowl. the 42nd iteration in fact, and i'm sure it will be one of the wildest to date.

and come sunday, i will be cheering my ass off for the new england patriots.

is it because i want to see them set a perfect regular and postseason record?

is it because i love tom brady?

is it because i think randy moss is the best wide receiver since jerry rice?

is it because i love how much tedy bruschi loves his coach?

no on all accounts. i fucking despise the new england patriots with all that i am.

well then, why cheer for the patriots you ask? i've found that i have a curse, wherein any professional sports team that i support ends up failing.

denver nuggets: temporarily knocked out of the playoff bracket
chicago bulls: at this point, it's hard to say whether or not they will even make the playoffs

this curse also applies to individuals:

gilbert arenas: still out with a knee injury
michael jordan: motherfucker done lost his mind

the whole boston area is pretty fuckin lame right now, what with the Red Sox winning the World Series, the Patriots poised to win the Super Bowl and the Celtics with arguably the NBA's best team. if they get the hat trick, the world will really be on tilt.

that's fuckin real, son.

and i may just be biased, well, not may, i am biased, but watch this play and try to tell me that kobe didn't stick his foot there on purpose, looking at the ball to pretend like he didn't mean it:

and melo still made it. it's never a good thing when a player's foot is perpendicular to his knee. for shame, kobe.
