one of the greatest hardships of growing up is the inevitable distance that amalgamates itself between you and your friends.

as you grow up, you grow apart. people have lives to live, careers to pursue and families to pursue. it's when you come to realize that you aren't part of these plans that you begin to understand how alone in this world you really are, and how far behind you really are.

you come to take for granted that time that you've spent together and how simple life really was, and even though you still drop each other a line to catch up or crack a couple of jokes, it's clearly not the same, nor will it ever be. i miss all of my friends, but i wish them all the best, no matter which path down life it takes them. i wish them well because it inspires me, whether out of envy or awe, that i am uncertain of.

they say suffering doesn't make you a hero, if that's the case, i'm just one glaring example of that.

until next whine,
ray
