Mama's Boy 07

sup all.

welcome to 2008.

the closing of the past year was spent by me in recollection and recluse in modesto.

i was only gone for a week and a half but it felt like a month. life moves slowers in small towns.

in my time there, i felt as though it were preview into what my life would be like had i not gone to college, not tried hard in school, or never bounced back from having been expelled from school.

while in the mo'(this is what the cool kids call it, try to keep up), i went to my uncle's restaurant every night to help my mom out. it was then that i realized how much she has supported me, and how i would be nothing if it weren't for her.

people have either come to fear or respect my mother, maybe both. i think the only person she takes any shit from is me, which is saying a lot. she's helped me through a lot of troubled times.

i've become a lot like her. we both are introverted and anti-social at times.

ANYWAYS, the final days of 2007 were riddled by a lot of ups and downs.

i got my financial aid.
i got a 3.0333333 last quarter.
my dog sprained her knee and had to spend a night at the vets all alone.
it cost me $300 dollars for xrays.
i didn't get as much financial aid as i had expected.
business at the restaurant was slow.

but i do feel like i came into 2008 strong, and hope to ride this wave until june, where it will finally be my time to move the tassel on my hat from one side to the other.

it's important to see where you were a year ago, what you wanted to be, where you wanted to be and then re-evaluate those questions again for the coming year.

as much as i despise modesto, my family makes it bearable.

a lot is depending on these next few months. the challenge has been laid before me.

i do see the light at the end of the tunnel, and it is up to me, to go and get it.
