in all honesty, i can't really give a good reason.
i'm trying to distance myself from the internet as much as possible lately.
besides, the way that i look at it, all the people on my myspace are people that i keep in regular contact with for the most part anyways. you all know how to reach me, and I, you. i nixxed all the people i don't give a shit about on there long ago.
in addition to myspace, i've also stopped going on all the stupid forums i used to frequent. they drain the life out of you. i regret all the time that i've wasted on them over the years. "idle are the hands of the wicked."
this sudden distancing, i'm hoping, is to better myself. giving up smoking, drinking, and the internet is a necessary change. these have all been past vices of mine.
change, however, is often hard for some to accept. a couple of friends of mine have told me that they don't like the "new" ray. i'm not sure if it is because i now come off as boring, or arrogant, or better than thou, but i hope to assure you all that this is certainly not the case. i just find that i need a certain degree of discipline in my life, at the current moment.
the catalyst for all this has been a specter of my past that has returned to haunt me. from this reliving of days gone by, i've learn to let go. i'm tired of the stranglehold that the past has had on me. it's made me weak and frail. i've learned that all i need in my life, is surrounding me, and i treasure the people in my life.
so, call me emo, or what you will, but make no mistake that i have no gained a certain clairvoyance. i see clearly where i want to be, who i want to be there, and when everything will happen. don't call it pride, call it logic if you must call it anything.
fuck the past, cherish the promise that tomorrow brings.
peace the hell out.
